——————–THIS WEEK———————
Was among friends at this yearly show. Good to see them back and
fun to hear about their newest art adventures. Sorry, my paintings are
actually much brighter, but they stood at a place with much light.
Photography wise I was not able to get closer to reality.
Two of my main Paintings. Top:
Even in the Valley of Death, 36 x 24
Break out of the City, 24 x 30
A painting of one of the organizer’s of the show.
She cracks me up, because she thinks
she is …so slow, doesn’t know how to
do a particular (read: any) painting), etc.
Yet, she comes up with original ideas.
Much more important than how fast it’s done!
One of the organizers had seen the beginnings of this
painting. When she saw the finished result,
she immediately said,”I need this here”
and put the Three Deer
smack in the middle of the art space.
A very sensitive painting. The symbolism is the
(heavenly) father waiting for his son (we,
people are his sons and daughters)
to come to him.
A striking, and unusual painting.
My personal favorite!
This lady I have known for 5 years, and never revealed
her artistic talents,
until I saw this at the art show!
Now I understand why she kept asking me questions
about my painting process (when painting there
for 5 years in front of an audience)
There was so much more, I liked to have shown you,
but dodging people at an art show can be difficult,
because they like to take their time to contemplate
about the image. The space was actually too small
for all that was hanging there!

Since I’m traveling I thought I copy the post from my travel blog. It wasn’t easy… Would you tell me if it worked, please?

Thank you. Have to admit my photographic skills lacked to bring out the paintings at their best (the lights made it very difficult to bring out the bright, yet light colors), sorry. Passion? No doubt!!

I love art shows – so much creativity – and I enjoyed your pieces. It certainly is difficult photographing in a gallery, especially with glass over the pieces. Have a fabulous week, and thank you again for the link up.

Thanks for “taking me along” to the show … not something I get much chance to see.

Wonderful works! Your first image brings to mind that this past week we sang the Psalm of David (Ps 23) at the funeral of a dear friend. The Lord is my Shepherd…

I’m surprised they let you take photos but I suppose knowing people and being one of the artists makes a big difference. You can see enough of your beautiful paintings to see how talented you are. I supposed they don’t allow flash photography?

Looks and sounds like great exhibition. And I love your deer!
I’ll be over with my all seasons in a minute or two – not as artistic as yours, Jesh

Debbie, I think you’re forgetting that your design and technical skill is far above mine!:)

Wish I knew more about the technical side of photography. The light in the gallery threw me off. But then, my excuse is I’m a painter:)
