This Week
Never have enough of showing you the versatility and beauty in the Huntington Library Gardens in Pasadena. It rivals the larger one (of the two) in Berlin (Germany). The Huntington has a more subtropical edge.
Looking down the Stairs in Huntington Library Gardens this summer. In the distance you see half of the round bridge, like they have in China. The bridge, not seen here, is over a pond.
Some happy Koi are living there.
It was here in the Huntington, that my eyes were opened to the beauty of blooming flowers of cacti. You notice how long the hairs of this red star are?
Didn’t expect to see bright yellow flowers on cacti either!
Can’t help myself, but can’t exclude a view of the Rose Garden
Side view of the stairs above.
All views are from Huntington Library in Pasadena
What or where is your favorite garden?

The star flower looks incredible. Isn’t it a rare flower? How I wish I could have one in my garden.

Beautiful gardens … I would love to visit someday! We enjoy visiting Botanical Gardens…near home and when we travel.

Looks like a gorgeous garden to visit. I love visiting botanic gardens in cities. They are a respite from the hustle and bustle outside. Did you mean to change the background of your blog to dark grey? It is so hard to read 🙂

Hi, Jesh, 🙂 The lower half of your first photo of the garden looking through trellis to the rounded bridge seemed like a painting to me. Also had me thinking of a portal into another dimension. 🙂

They are great gardens. It’s been a long time since I was there. I love cactus flowers. I hope when we get to Arizona on our Snowbird RV Trip in February there will be some. – Margy

I want to visit the desert when the cacti are in bloom! I’ve seen some over the years as we love the desert.
Favourite gardens? That’s a tough one. I think I’ll go with Butchart Gardens in Victoria BC. Or maybe Kensington Palace in London???
