Balboa Park in San Diego is often full of activities.
People, idem ditto. One time in May we saw cuttings
of cacti for sale. While we were contemplating
which one, Hubs turned around and saw
one of his friends of the photo club of the
Los Angeles area. They were both stunned.
When I saw a door open, I suggested to Hubs
“Let’s go in here,” and found an exhibit that
had been going on there for a week.
What a pleasant surprise. These are all show stoppers
cacti, grown by non-professionals. My favorite was
the peach one – When I remember it correctly
it received 2nd prize.
Peach Ephiphilium (hope this is the correct spelling)
The donkey cart, They had several tables like this,
this was in my opinion the most inventive.
White with pink outer petals
The participants were all very willing to share
their growing secrets, and how to start this hobby.
Hot Pink. Can you imagine, this blooming in the desert?
Pretty, pretty pink star
Maybe you had something unexpected happen – good – or not so good – or even horrid! Any experience is permissible, as long as you use civil language:):)
