Started something short and easy for Wednesday with one image, I like you to know of. Are you curious? CLICK HERE

Wen we lived in a condo for five years, in the same street as the famous South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa (in the Los Angeles basin), it was only one and a half hours drive from San Diego.
In that time we spent almost every Saturday there.  These are images of Balboa Park, a big complex with diverse corners, museums, Botanical Building, restaurants, Educational, Arts and International buildings.

Many big palms in Balboa Park

This tower is next to a shorter round tower,
both called the quadrangle towers. You see
the Mexican influence of the decorations here.

One of the many orchids of their collection in the botanical
building. They even have flesh eating plants here.

The bell towers are a great profile. Was not able to stand
at the right distance, for people kept walking by.

Almost every Saturday there were street performers
on the road, leading up to this huge fountain.
People loved to sit on the tiles in the surrounding circle,
to get some refreshing droplets on them,
since the weather in San Diego
is tropical most of the year.

  1. I have been to CA but never traveled around to beautiful places like this. How lovely! It really does make me want to take a road trip again. Enjoy your week! Hugs, Diane

  2. It must have been a great place to visit if you went there nearly every Saturday. Alive with people, sights, sounds and things to taste, look and explore. Thank you for this little view, stay safe and enjoy your week, and thank you again for the link up.

  3. Balboa Park looks like a wondrous place. I have only visited San Diego once, on business, and missed so many beautiful attractions. I did get to ride in a sailboat out in the Bay, but nearly got run over by a battleship!
